Piero Fornasetti Wallpaper

I don't know what was going through Piero Fornasetti's head when he decided that Lina Cavalieri would be the focal of his design for "Themes and Variations". I think he was either smoking really good drugs or having an awesome cup of Italian Macchiato. Fornasetti was born in 1913, a well known painter/sculptor/interior designer. He is best known now for his furnishings accessorized with the lovely face of his modern day Mona Lisa.

I scored two rows of Cole & Son's hand screenprinted wallpapers for free (this was an absolute bonus given that this wallpaper costs around 150+ per roll). Putting it up was not as hard as I thought it would be.You paste the wall and apply the paper. The hard part is getting the seams to match. It took me an hour and lot of cursing. Not bad for an amateur.

So the final product is my take on Fornasetti in my home guest bathroom. Who doesn't like having someone watching you doing a number 1 or 2? Or better yet, if you need stimulation what better way than to look at all the difference variations of Fornasetti's Mona Lisa. The effect of this wallpaper has garnished many reviews from those who have seen it. From creepy looking, to overall just weird, this wallpaper will always remain a classic for those who like a little humor.
