Awesome, but not in the face.

Today's random thought of the day comes to me courtesy of Workopolis.

Over drinks one night, I had met up with some fellow coworkers at the bar. In my drunken (or not so drunken stupor since I only had one beer), I said to a particularly pretty boy coworker that "Life must be easy for you being so damn pretty". This prompted a female coworker to retaliate my comment by pointing out the fact, that I was bias as I too am pretty. I don't take compliments well. In fact, I do not take compliments at all. I abhor them. I detest them. I don't think of myself as pretty or good looking but at the same time I do not think Im totally hideous either. But this isnt about me, its about pretty people who have perfectly asymetrical faces who don't have to lift a finger and just smile to get away with murder. Its those people that make me into a jealous fit of rage. Why? This comes back to my upbringing and the days of childhood where I was never deemed pretty or good looking. I was always picked last in GYM class, no one wanted to be my lab partner. I had convinced myself I was truly hideous or infectuous.

Either way, pretty people do get the jobs, the girl/boy, the prizes and all the luck. There are no down and out pretty people. That's just how the world rolls. Pretty people get everything! Ugly people? Good luck and continue doing your best using your brain power to get you where you need to be. Nerds unite and rule the world anyway. Im talking about you Bill Gates.
